Athletics

My love for sports quickly became apparent while out on my newspaper assignments at SRU, and ultimately changed my life. Typing that it's life changing seems bold even to me, but this is where I fell in love with what I do. Although I never worked for the Athletic Department, I became what seemed like a colleague to those who did. I built professional relationships with the Director of Visual Communication, AD Media personnel, players, and even coaches. Me going to every game possible was definitely not required of my Photo Editor newspaper position, but I did just for the love of it. Since graduating, I've worked with SRU Football to capture media during their recruiting season as well.

The Rocket Newspaper

After a crack at college in the wrong degree, I thought that it wasn't for me, I dropped out. Then, while I was taking a break I found myself in the Pittsburgh photography scene where I discovered people who I could really connect with. Along the line I DM'd a past Photo Editor of The Rocket, who inspired me to try again. Somehow, by chance I ended up in the same position as them. Knowing what this position could turn into opened up my mind and I kicked myself into a whole different gear, especially with only having my senior year on-campus after COVID.
